It certainly helps the bonding and sharing time with your children and does so better than sitting in front of a television or computer. Also, you can throw in a few phonics lessons. My daughter has been reading daily with her twins from the time they were a few months old until today. The memories and lessons, that build so early, are amazing. My Mother did this with me and I still recall those early impressions. Peter Rabbit stories actually taught me a lot.
